MS2 DOT User Conference a Big Success

Tuesday, September 24, 2019

Users of MS2’s Transportation Data Management System (TDMS) at the state Department of Transportation level gathered September 16-17 in Helena, Montana for our biennial DOT User Conference. Twenty-five people from MS2, FHWA and ten DOTs were in attendance for the day and a half event which was hosted by the Montana Department of Transportation.

The event also featured a fascinating presentation from Montana State University civil engineering professor emeritus, Dr. Jerry Stephens. He discussed the costs and benefits of quality traffic data collection and analysis.

Conference discussion topics ranged from software user tips and strategies to new modules being developed by MS2. Two representatives from the FHWA were in attendance to answer questions and both made informative presentations to the group. The best part about the event was the opportunity to meet formally and informally with colleagues from other states and to learn how they are using the software to improve traffic data management work flows, analysis and reporting.
