MS2's booth at the 2015 TRB Conference
The Transportation Research Board's (TRB) annual Washington, DC conference had been held at the Marriott Wardman for many years. While the hotel was always nice attendees were forced to take shuttle buses to two other local hotels to attend various conference sessions. And all the exhibits were jammed into two halls in the basement of the Wardman. Everything was somewhat inconvenient. The conference had simply gotten too big for the Wardman and other hotels.
For the 2015 conference, the venue was changed to the Walter E. Washington convention center. All sessions were held there or in the adjacent Marriot Marquis hotel. The hotel and the convention center are new, spacious, bright and cheerful. The exhibit hall in the convention center had plenty of space for all vendors and the high ceilings and fresh look made for a much more pleasant experience for exhibitors and booth visitors.

We were told that more than 10,000 transportation planners, traffic engineers and other professionals attended the new look TRB conference this year. If so, the venue successfully managed the rush - but it was still hard to get a reservation at the local restaurants!
See you at the 2016 annual TRB convention.
