Non-Motorized Database System (NMDS)

More often people are walking or using bicycles to get to work, to get to school, to exercise as well as reduce the number of vehicle miles traveled. The Non-Motorized Database System (NMDS) provides traffic engineers with a tool to analyze bicycle and pedestrian volumes.

Road agencies are now studying these modes of travel and collecting data but need an interactive database application like MS2’s NMDS to map, manage and analyze their data. The module supports data imports from a variety of count equipment (Miovision, Eco-Counter, Trafx) which capture data from bike lanes, sidewalks, bike paths, trails and crosswalks. The application also provides the tools necessary to analyze daily and weekly volumes of pedestrians, bicycles, wheelchairs, and other modes of non-motorized travel.
