The Daily Traffic Volume Trends (DTVT) is a metric about the daily traffic volume change as compared to the same day of week in the same month for the previous year, or the most recent year that data is available. The metric is based on 24/7/365 data from traffic sensors and smart traffic signals installed by many road agencies. The data is collected by either MS2’s Autopolling Extension every day or transmitted by the agencies nearly every day. The Traffic Dashboard is updated by 3 PM (Eastern Time) every day. You can click on the colored states to see the traffic trends for the last 30 days (located below the map).

The National Traffic and State Traffic statistics include all traffic, including trucks. National Truck and State Truck statistics include FHWA vehicle classes 5-13 or vehicle length >23 feet.
